Hey Hey

Hi guys,
Turns out I'm going overseas again!
I'll use this blog again, for sure. Only thing is, I'll have to remember to write. That will be a challenge in itself! Never mind navigating the globe, coping with strangers, stressing about the contents of some exotic food or other, I need to remember that this blog exists... What is my life coming to?
Stay tuned to find out whether Livy proves up to the mammoth task of taming her Bean Bag!
No, really, if some blog which I have no obligation at all to keep updated is my biggest worry, I have no troubles whatsoever to speak of...
If only that were my biggest worry!
But now I'm just being silly, aren't I?
Time to log off.
Livy
PS Nowhere else do I spell Livy with one 'v' - normally it is Livvy. So why make the change here? Beats me, but as long as it keeps my (very few) readers on their toes, maybe I will have achieved something :p.

It hurts me

If I think too hard

About how you’re avoiding me

I know it’s because

I partly fear it from myself

But maybe you could look after me for a change.

I’m not convinced it wasn’t a sham

Just come out right and say it

You can’t afford the time

And me, who only matters

In clouds of your intoxicated breath

You meant it then but

I’m finding it hard to tell.

Back Home

Just a quick note now to say I will be continuing my blog. Like I said to toffeexxhelvetti, I will do this even for a few poems. I hope you will find them interesting. At the moment, just for the record, things are travelling smoothly with me. However I am aware that things are far from smooth with everyone in my grade. School is such a stressor for so many people. This year, I'm gonna let God into my life - and see what happens from there. I'm gonna enjoy it, and travel with the people who need a friend. It probably won't be long til I write again,

2 poems

beautiful graveyard
a muddy path
misty surrounds
a quiet...
to think

you know those times
you're talking
there's this rare
raw nugget of truth
covered
yet seen through the dirt

my heart beats faster
somethings needs to come out
be exposed
to connect the dots
mend the tear
seal the holes

pull the strings
draw me in
draw you in
to the radiant core
a pulsating process
it rolls, it accelerates

it turns, we grow closer
no time to hesitate
we must speak
speak with love
discover the seed
the seed which is truth

How dare I not mention...

My visiting my sister. I went to see R between Christmas and New Year's. She lives in a state of Germany basically under mine. But we're both in the north-western region. Of course, my sister's back home again in Oz now. But she explicitly asked if I would mention her! Ha ha.

Well, I also went to see Alina. Those of you from school will remember her. That was the first night, and Anna and Fabi came for the night too. We went to see the movie Australia together. Elise, I thought of you when we had brekky the next morning. I joked to Alina's mum that I knew their breakfast table rather well. That is, because I had phoned you while you were breakfasting at that very table. Later that day we all met up with my sister and her host family. That was at an ice-skating rink in the middle of an old coal factory complex. It was strangely beautiful.

That night I stayed at R's. We went to the disco... something different for me. Actually, it was my first time at a disco in Germany. It was sort of fun, especially with Backstreet Boys music! Would you believe it, I travelled on an Autobahn at around 160 km/h! Needless to say I'm not condoning high-speed driving. I could hardly believe it. That was on the way home from the disco, and a friend of R's host sister was driving - not me. The following day we travelled into Essen together with the S-Bahn. My sister and I can have some good fun together. And I'll be seeing her again soon... Next photos to be uploaded to my blog are of our time together. Wait with baited breath!

Free Travel

To my appreciated readers,
Here are some new pictures from my 5days'travelling round Germany. I should mention, they are ordered backwards. That is, the picture of our youth hostel room should be last, and the train pic first. Anyway, I just want to give you an idea of what I did and saw. I've visited Dresden - that was first. It is a very pretty city. The Frauenkirche was closed for renovations or something over the winter. Otherwise I think we would have gone inside. But we did spend a while in a cafe right next door! On the way back to the station I took that picture of the Martin Luther statue with the Frauenkirche in the background. Then to Munich and seeing the famous castle, Neuschwanstein. Marvellous setting. We made a day trip out of Munich to Salzburg, and spent some time at Mozart's birth house. Not to mention visiting the park and fountain which feature in the Sound of Music - I think during 'Do Re Mi'. Later we walked up the hill which overlooks Salzburg. Salzburg was my favourite, I think. And last of all I managed to see my old exchange sister and her family. That afternoon we also visited Dachau - therefore, the picture of the gate, 'Arbeit macht frei'. I think it was important to see. It is such a grey place, very stony and quiet. But in the last few days there have been beautiful sunsets and the moon's been bright too. Then I thought about the juxtaposition of human wrong and beautiful nature... Unfortunately we didn't have enough time before the museum closed, to see everything.

That night we dined at the Hofbräuhaus. The train I caught back to Hamburg the next day was direct Munich to Hamburg! It took 5 and a half hours on one of the faster trains. That means I practically spanned the length of Germany within a school day! Wishing all of you well,
-Livy

Winter Camp in Hameln

Hi guys, these are pictures from Gass Winter Camp. We were at a youth hostel in the town of Hameln. That is where the legend of the Pied Piper is supposed to have originated. And just to clarify, Gass is one part of the organisation which sponsored me to come to Germany. Gass is run by the ex- exchange students. We made paper lanterns one night, and walked by the river to some car park. Then we drank some Glühwein. Next pictures coming up are from FreeTravel. Enjoy!

Hi guys

Hi,
I'm in Munich now - an internet cafe. How lame that I've failed to update my blog successfully. Soon I will see my old exchange sister. Today we are going to Neuschwanstein. Photos will just have to wait for now, cos I've no way to upload. But there are some good ones on the way! Germany's had some great snow, which means the whole train system has been slowed. At the moment I'm on free travel with a group of other Aussies including Anna. Right then, now to check emails... A bunch of love from me to my special friends --- Not long until I am home again.

Untitled

Dear all (who have not given up checking my blog),
Today in school we have two free periods. If a teacher is sick in Germany, the class is usually cancelled. But I think Music was cancelled cos the teacher's organising a Chrissy concert. Tomorrow I'm going to take part in the concert! Even though I've hardly participated in rehearsals until this morning... Unfortunately it again seems that I've not much time to write. But I hope you enjoy looking at the photos I've uploaded! I promise there are more to come... I'm pretty slack about maintaining this blog, hey. Anyway, greetings to all from me.
Love,
Livy
